The majority of the French nouns ending with -age are masculines, however, there are a few exceptions.

Cage (cage): Les oiseaux chantent dans leur cage. (The birds sing in their cage.), Elle a acheté une cage pour son hamster. (She bought a cage for her hamster.)

Page (page): J'ai tourné la page de mon livre. (I turned the page of my book.)

Plage (beach): Nous allons à la plage cet après-midi. (We're going to the beach this afternoon.)

Nage (swimming): Elle s'entraîne en nage libre. (She trains in freestyle swimming.). La nage synchronisée est une discipline impressionnante. (Synchronized swimming is an impressive discipline.)

Virtual Story Time with Rhéal Allain: Sunday, February 26th @1pm EST
Join Professor Rhéal Allain, a French Second Language (FLS) professor at the University of Ottawa for a Bilingual Virtual Storytime session on Sunday, February 26th, from 1-2pm EST. Professor Allain has been teaching FLS all of his life.
In this session, participants will learn about Bilingualism in Ottawa and will be able to practice their French in this interactive virtual session. There will be opportunities to ask questions as well as draw so please tune in with some paper and crayons or pencils. PDF/virtual access to the books will be emailed to all participants following the session. The content is most appropriate for ages 2-7, but all are welcome to listen and learn. Participants will receive a zoom link by email prior to the event. Register for free now!
